Australian Arts is a platform dedicated to showcasing, supporting, and connecting local creatives across Australia. From digital spaces to physical studios, it provides artists with opportunities to be seen, celebrated, and empowered, while building a vibrant creative community that spans cities, regions, and mediums.
Founded in 2010 by Dioni (Monsuta), Australian Arts began with the goal of promoting creative spaces and emerging talent in Wollongong and the Illawarra region.
Between 2010 and 2013, it launched Australia’s first arts focused smartphone app, allowing users to discover galleries, studios, cafes, and other creative spaces, alongside artist profiles, works, and links. Plans are now underway to bring the app back, expanding Australian Arts’ reach and giving creatives new ways to connect with communities.
Looking forward, Australian Art plans to open a creative studio and exhibition space in Newcastle, providing affordable studio space, exhibitions, and events for local creatives. In addition, the platform now hosts a podcast, giving artists a voice to share their stories, creative processes, and insights, further extending the reach and impact of the Australian creative community. Together, these initiatives embody Australian Arts mission: to connect, showcase, and empower artists across both digital and physical spaces.
The platform’s founder, Dioni (Monsuta), is an Australian artist and creative visionary whose own experiences, including recovering from a serious spinal injury and navigating life as a late diagnosed adult with AuDHD, inform Australian Arts’ approach to support, accessibility, and empowerment for all creatives.
Alongside his work building Australian Arts, Dioni has an extensive creative background, spanning visual art, design, acting, and international exhibitions, giving him a unique perspective on what artists need to thrive.
